Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles was one of the U.S.'s first female gymnast ever to be awarded four gold medals. She also claimed the title of world champion for all-around 3 times in succession (2013-15). Biles grew up in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time her and her sister Adria received adoption by parents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone began to be interested in gymnastics when she was just six. Coach Aimee Borman took her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them for an excursion. Biles received a silver medal for vault as well as a gold medal on the floor gymnastics at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin participating in the elite level of competition. She was the most dominant in her sport just two years later. What stood Biles out was her consistency her flamboyant attitude and the extreme level of difficulty she incorporated into her routines in all four events--vault uneven bars, balance beam, and floor workout.
